The Shore based measurement

In order to understand the environment of the Pearl river Estuary, various shored based sensors were set up along the coast.  These include three CODAR stations and one water quality monitoring station. The water quality monitoring station contains a YSI and an AWS. The locations of these stations are shown in following pictures:

The monitoring stations are operated continuously in 24 hours a day and the data are transmitted in real-time back to HKUST operational center through telephone lines / Internet. The data are stored in the CCAR's environmental database, and displayed as spatial and time-series plots:
