Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The northeast monsoon is affecting southern China. Meanwhile, pressure over central China is rising. A replenishment of the monsoon is expected to reach the south China coastal areas later today.

At 8 a.m., the tropical depression over the Philippines was centred about 480 kilometres southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west at about 20 kilometres per hour across the central to southern parts of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for today

Sunny periods and relatively low visibility. The maximum temperature will be about 25 degrees. Moderate easterly winds. Becoming northerlies with a few rain patches later and temperatures falling to around 20 degrees at midnight.

Outlook : Becoming cool appreciably tomorrow morning. Dry with sunny periods in the following couple of days.

    At 9 a.m., the tropical depression over the Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 10.9 degrees north, 123.3 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 20 kilometres per hour across the central to southern parts of the Philippines.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 210000 UTC, the tropical depression over the Philippines with central pressure 1002 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of one zero point nine degrees north (10.9 N) one two three point five degrees east (123.5 E) and is forecast to move west at about 12 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 25 knots.
