Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

Pressure over the northern part of southern China is rising. A replenishment of the monsoon is expected to reach the south China coastal areas tonight.

At noon, the tropical depression over the Philippines was centred about 450 kilometres south-southeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west at about 22 kilometres per hour across the central to southern parts of the Philippines.

Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight

Sunny periods and relatively low visibility in the afternoon. Moderate easterly winds. Becoming fresh northerlies with a few rain patches later. The weather will start turning cooler.

Outlook : Appreciably cooler tomorrow morning. Mainly fine and dry in the following couple of days. Becoming cloudy with rain early next week.

    Weather Situation:
    The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal waters. A replenishment of the monsoon is expected to reach the region tonight.

    At noon, the tropical depression over the Philippines with maximum sustained winds of about 45 kilometres per hour near its centre was located near 10.9 degrees north, 122.8 degrees east. It is forecast to move west at about 22 kilometres per hour across the central to southern parts of the Philippines.

    Tropical Cyclone Warning

    At 210300 UTC, the tropical depression over the Philippines with central pressure 1002 hectopascals was centred within 90 nautical miles of one zero point eight degrees north (10.8 N) one two two point nine degrees east (122.9 E) and is forecast to move west at about 12 knots for the next 24 hours.

    Maximum winds near the centre are estimated to be 25 knots.

    Radius of over 2 metre waves 90 nautical miles.

They incorporate additional information derived from surface and upper-air data and may therefore be slightly different from the real-time satellite or radar-based positions given in the hourly bulletins for public.

    While the forecast positions and track indicate the most likely future path of the tropical cyclone, they may deviate from the actual path taken by the storm.
